Biographical Information[edit]
Bobby Williams was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 49th round of the 1995 amateur draft out of high school, but he did not sign with the club. He instead graduated from Rollins College in 1999.
Williams was a coach from 2000-2004 with the GCL Reds and Billings Mustangs in the Cincinnati Reds system. He then managed the Vermont Expos in 2005 and became skipper of the Savannah Sand Gnats in 2006.
On March 8, 2007, Williams was named Director of Player Development for the Washington Nationals replacing Andy Dunn.
Williams' father, Pat Williams, was a minor league catcher in 1962-1963, GM of the Spartanburg Phillies in 1965-1968 [1], and is an executive with the Orlando Magic of the NBA.
