Biographical Information[edit]
Third baseman Bob Rice played 18 years in the minors, coming up in 1926 to the majors. He also managed nearly a decade in the minors.
In 1938, Bob Rice became the business manager of the Asheville Tourists. He became the director of the Pittsburgh Pirates farm system in 1941, then was the Pirates' traveling secretary from 1947 to 1969.
