Biographical Information[edit]
Bob Fornelli is a college coach.
Fornelli was pitching coach for Butler County Community College from 1992-1996. He then coached Fort Hays State University for seven years, going 306-113 and set a school record for a career wins. He took Fort Hays to the championship game of the 2000 Division II College World Series, where they fell to Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He helped develop Nate Field during his time at Fort Hays.
He became head coach of Emporia State University in 2004. He took the team to its first Division II College World Series in 2006 and repeated the feat in 2009, where they made the championship game only to lose to Lynn University. Fornelli was 522-202 in his first 10 years as a coach. Fornelli stayed at Emporia State through 2018, finishing with a 599-266 record in 15 seasons.
Fornelli became head coach at Pittsburg State University in 2019.
