Biographical Information[edit]

Blair Walters is a pitcher in the Houston Astros organization.

Walters was All-league in high school in 2007 and in junior college in 2008. As a junior at Hawaii, he was 2-1 with a 7.07 ERA. He improved to 7-2, 4.14 as a senior, leading the team in wins despite being a reliever.

He was an 11th round choice of the Chicago White Sox in the 2011 amateur draft. The scout was Gary Woods. He spent his first professional season with the Great Falls Voyagers, where he posted an outstanding 9-0 record with a 4.03 ERA in 14 starts. He led the Pioneer League in wins and was 4th in ERA. He joined Raymond Hernandez, Aaron Brooks, Edwin Carl and Taylor Siemens as the All-Star pitchers, but beat them all out for Pitcher of the Year honors.

In 2012, he began the season with the Kannapolis Intimidators, and 3-3, 2.28 in 13 starts. He was promoted mid-year to the Winston-Salem Dash and was 1-3, 7.01 in 5 starts when he was traded to the Astros along with fellow pitcher Matt Heidenreich for veteran P Brett Myers.
