Biographical Information[edit]
The brother of Joe Mauer and Jake Mauer and great-nephew of John Mauer Sr., and Ken Mauer, Bill Mauer pitched for three years in the minor leagues. Undrafted out of college, he signed with the Minnesota Twins. In 2003, he pitched for the Quad City River Bandits (0-0, 3.52) and GCL Twins (3-1, 1.71 in 15 games, .168 opponent average). Billy pitched in 23 games for the Swing of the Quad Cities in 2004, going 0-3 with a 4.19 ERA. He concluded his career in 2005 with the Beloit Snappers, allowing 3 runs in 1 1/3 IP.
