Biographical Information[edit]
Bill Kling, brother of Johnny Kling, broke in with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1891, a team that was managed by Harry Wright, one of baseball's earliest pioneers who had been managing at least 20 years at that point. The team featured players such as Ed Delahanty, Sam Thompson, and Billy Hamilton.
Kling moved on to the Baltimore Orioles in 1892, a team which featured the 19-year-old John McGraw. He umpired one National League game that season.
Kling finished up his major league days pitching one game with the Louisville Colonels in 1895.
