Biographical Information[edit]
Arsalan Jamshed was playing cricket while serving in the Pakistani military when the coach of the military baseball team recruited him to baseball. He was the starting shortstop for the Pakistani national team in the 2015 Asian Championship. He went 3 for 17 with a run and two RBI, while fielding .852. He drove in the game-winning run in Pakistan's lone win, over Indonesia. Only Muhammad Sumair Zawar had more RBI for Pakistan in the tournament.
In the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, he was 0 for 5 with a walk (from Eric Pardinho) as Pakistan's starting shortstop. He played both games without making an error. He hit .417/.462/.500 as Pakistan's leadoff hitter and shortstop in the 2017 Asian Championship, scoring three runs and stealing two bases in three games while fielding .950. He tied Fazal Ur Rehman for second on Pakistan in average (behind Ubaid Ullah), tied Ur Rehman for the most hits, was second to Ullah in OBP and tied Ullah for the most swipes.
