Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Arnie Beyeler played six seasons of minor league ball in the Detroit Tigers' system and reached AAA in 1991. In 584 minor league games over six seasons, he batted .254 with 69 stolen bases. His best season came in 1987 where he hit .285 in 117 games with the Fayetteville Generals.

Beyeler was a scout for the Tigers from 1992 to 1996. He moved into coaching in the New York Yankees' system from 1997 to 1999 with the Columbus Clippers in 1997 and the Norwich Navigators in 1998 and 1999. Beyeler changed organizations again in 2000. He started the year as a hitting coach for the Pawtucket Red Sox before moving to the short-season Lowell Spinners as their manager in June. After three years of managing in the Boston Red Sox minor league system, he joined the Texas Rangers and managed there for another three years. Beyeler took a one year break from managing in 2006 when he was the hitting coach for the Mobile BayBears. After the season he served as the bench coach for the West Oahu CaneFires in the Hawaii Winter League.

The Red Sox rehired Beyeler in 2007. He was the manager of the Portland Sea Dogs from 2007-2010. After the 2010 season he worked as a bench coach for the Navegantes del Magallanes in the Venezuelan League starting on December 14th. This was his only international coaching experience. Beyeler moved up to Pawtucket in 2011-2012 as their manager. His 2012 team won the Governors' Cup, marking the PawSox' 1st International League championship in 28 years. The Red Sox promoted Beyeler to the major league staff in 2013 and he served as the team's first base coach and outfield instructor for three seasons. Beyeler helped the Red Sox win the 2013 World Series championship.

Beyeler continued to change organizations in subsequent seasons. He returned to managing in 2016 with the New Orleans Zephyrs in the Miami Marlins organization. Beyeler stayed with New Orleans in 2017-2018 when their name changed to the New Orleans Baby Cakes. In 2019, he moved to the Baltimore Orioles, also as first base coach, but stayed only one season. Beyeler returned to the Tigers organization where he was scheduled to be manager of the Erie SeaWolves in 2020 before the season was cancelled due to COVID-19. Beyeler did manage the SeaWolves in 2021. The next year the Tigers named him their Minor League Outfield & Baserunning Coordinator. He remained in this role in 2023 and perhaps in 2024 as well.
