Biographical Information[edit]
Armando Valdez pitched in the Mexican League and the CPBL.
Valdez pitched for the Mexico City Tigres from 1986 to 1988, and he played for the Monterrey Industriales from 1989 to 1997. He went to the Chetumal Mayas in 1998, then he returned to Monterrey in 1999. After going 7-1 with a 2.34 ERA in Mexico, the Uni-President Lions of Taiwan signed him. He was 5-0 with a solid 1.26 ERA in 1999 CPBL, but he decided to returned to Mexico after that season. Valdez went 2-1 with a 4.66 ERA in 2000, and he was 8.1 with a 4.03 ERA in 2001. He had a 14-6 record with a 4.77 ERA for the Dos Laredos Tecolotes in 2002, and he spent the rest of his career with the Pericos de Puebla. Valdez was 3-3 with a 3.84 ERA in 2003, then he slumped to 0-4 with a 5.61 ERA in 2005. After going 6-5 with a 4.08 ERA in 2006, he went 2-1 with a 4.63 ERA in 2007 then he announced his retirement.
