Biographical Information[edit]

Arcenio León began his professional career in 2005.

Leon was signed by scouts Andres Reiner and Orlando Fernandez for the Astros in 2005. He began his professional career that summer with the VSL Astros, going 3-1 with eight saves and a 1.42 ERA in 20 relief appearances, leading the team in saves and finishing third in ERA. In 2006, again with the VSL Astros, Leon went 0-5 with a 5.87 ERA in 19 appearances. He moved stateside for 2007, pitching for the Greeneville Astros and going 0-7 with a 4.67 ERA in 15 games (nine starts). In 2008, he pitched for Greeneville again and went 3-1 with a 3.33 ERA in 15 games (two starts). For the Lexington Legends in 2010, Leon went 4-2 with a 5.86 ERA in 41 games (four starts). In 2010, he pitched for the Legends and Corpus Christi Hooks, going a combined 2-4 with a 3.97 ERA in 44 relief appearances, striking out 83 batters in 77 innings of work. He reached Triple-A for the first time in 2011, posting a 13.50 ERA in two innings for the Oklahoma City RedHawks. He spent most of the year with the Corpus Christi Hooks, going a combined 3-4 with a 4.86 ERA in 48 appearances; he had 73 strikeouts in 66 2/3 innings. Back with Corpus Christi in 2012, he was 3-2 with a 4.38 ERA in 44 games.

He joined the Milwaukee Brewers system, after being claimed off waivers, for 2013, 2-7 with a 5.68 ERA in 35 games (10 starts). In 71 1/3 innings for the Huntsville Stars, he allowed only 60 hits, but walked 58 batters and Ked only 41. He returned to the Brewers chain for 2014, posting a 2.18 ERA in 24 games for Huntsville, but a 5.26 mark in 28 games for the Triple-A Nashville Sounds. He joined the Chicago White Sox system for 2015, posting a 11.91 mark in nine games for the Triple-A Charlotte Knights. He spent most of the year on the disabled list. With the Acereros de Monclova in the Mexican League in 2016, Leon went 5-4 with a 3.30 ERA in 60 games, saving 36 and finishing 54.
