Antoine Alran was a member of the French national team in several events. He has been in a business and romantic relationship with Carole Ferriou, who was a four-time world archery champion; they have a daughter together.

Alran was 3 for 14 with a walk, run and a RBI as the French DH in the 1993 European Championship. He went 3 for 18 with a run in the 1993 Intercontinental Cup; starting at third base for France, the teenager fielded .591 with 9 errors in 8 games. He led the event in errors, three ahead of Russ Johnson and more than the entire Cuban national team or Australia. In the 1995 European Championship, he was much better as a part-time DH - 7 for 11 with two doubles, two walks, three runs and two RBI in five games. He did not qualify for the batting title, which went to teammate Sylvain Hervieux (.588).

He was France's main DH in the 1999 European Championship but was only 1 for 14 with a walk, double and RBI; he had one assist while backing up David Meurant at 3B. France got a Bronze, their first Medal ever in a European Championship. He hit .143/.333/.214 in the 2003 Baseball World Cup, his last tournament for France. He started at DH again and had 7 putouts backing up Jean-Baptiste Meunier at first base.

Alran was president of the Tigers de Toulouse from 2004-2007.
