Biographical Information[edit]

Andy O'Connor made his major league debut in the final game of the 1908 season, for the New York Highlanders against the Boston Red Sox on October 6th. He didn't fare very well, giving up 11 runs in 8 innings in a complete game loss. His opponent on the mound that day was Doc McMahon, who was also making his major league debut. Neither pitcher appeared again in a major league game after that, making it the only time in major league history that both starting pitchers were making their only career appearance.

After his playing days, O'Connor was a Boston Red Sox scout.
