Biographical Information[edit]
Doc McMahon made his major league debut in the final game of the 1908 season, for the Boston Red Sox against the New York Highlanders on October 6th, winning 11-3 while pitching a complete game. His opponent on the mound that day was Andy O'Connor, who was also making his major league debut. Neither pitcher appeared again in a major league game after that, making it the only time in major league history that both starting pitchers were making their only career appearance.
