Biographical Information[edit]
Starting pitcher Andy Moye has played in the Milwaukee Brewers minor league system since 2010 (through 2014).
He was originally drafted by the New York Mets in the 11th round of the 2006 amateur draft, between Mat Latos and Osvaldo Martinez, and ahead of Brandon Belt, but did not sign. His stock soured after struggling in college ball for a couple years, so much so that when the St. Louis Cardinals took him in the 2009 amateur draft, he was the seventh-to-last choice overall. He improved statistically in his final two seasons at college and was taken in the 15th round the 2011 amateur draft by Milwaukee, and signed.
After solid seasons in 2011 and 2012, Moye went 6-15 for the Huntsville Stars, becoming the first Southern League pitcher to lose 15 or more games in a season since Brooks Brown in 2008, and only the third pitcher since 2000 to do it (Rick Guttormson was 5-16 in 2001).
He began 2014 with the Stars.
