Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Andrew Moore was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 2nd round of the 2015 amateur draft out of Oregon State University. He began his career that same year with the Everett AquaSox of the Northwest League, going 1-1, 2.08 in 14 games. He was assigned to the Bakersfield Blaze of the California League at the start of 2016 and after 9 starts during which he went 3-1, 1.65, he was promoted to the AA Jackson Generals, where he went 9-3, 3.17 the rest of the way. In 28 games, all starts, he was a combined 12-4, 2.65, pitched 163 innings, allowed 148 hits and struck out 133 while walking only 31. This excellent performance secured his place among the top prospects in the Mariners organization.

Surprisingly, Andrew was back in AA at the start of the 2017 season, with the Arkansas Travelers of the Texas League, following a change of AA affiliates by the M's. In 6 games (5 starts), he was 1-2 2.08 and on May 9th, he was moved up to AAA, joining the Tacoma Rainiers of the Pacific Coast League. He continued to pitch well there, with a 3-1 record and and ERA of 3.19 in 9 starts, earning his final promotion, to the Show on June 21st, slating him to make his debut the next day. He replaced Christian Bergman in the starting rotation. In his first game against the Detroit Tigers on June 22nd, he gave up 3 runs in 7 innings and ended up a 9-6 winner. He pitched 11 times for Seattle, including 9 starts, and went 1-5, 5.34, logging 59 innings. In the minors, he was a combined 4-6, 3.04.

In 2018, Moore started the season back in Arkansas after failing in a bid to make the Mariners' starting rotation. In 9 starts, he went 3-1, 3.04 then on May 25th was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays alongside fellow prospect Tommy Romero in return for two established major leaguers, OF Denard Span and P Alex Colome.

Moore was assistant pitching coach of the Columbus Clippers in 2024.
