Biographical Information[edit]

Andrew Chin has been a minor league pitcher and played for the Chinese national team.

Chin was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 5th round of the 2011 Amateur Draft, but he refused to sign, opting for college. He had Tommy John surgery as a freshman, redshirting. He was 1-8 with a 3.88 ERA in 2013 and 5-2 with a 3.10 ERA in 2014. His 3.46 ERA was 4th-best in Boston College history. The New York Yankees selected him in the 15th round of the 2014 Amateur Draft, and he had a 6.17 ERA in 6 appearances for the Staten Island Yankees in 2014. Chin had a 2.92 ERA in 14 relief outings for the GCL Yankees 1 in 2015, but the Yankees still released him before the 2016 season.

He then represented China in the 2017 World Baseball Classic, and he relieved Yanyong Yang in the 7th inning against Australia. Chin retired Mitch Nilsson, but he then walked James Beresford and allowed a 2-run double to Luke Hughes. He forced Mitch Dening to fly out, then Tim Kennelly's single drove in another run. Chin retired Logan Wade and Chao Lu succeeded him.The Aigles de Trois-Rivières then signed Chin, but he allowed 9 runs in 4 innings and was released. He joined the San Rafael Pacifics in 2019, and he had a solid 1.86 ERA in 14 appearances. Chin then went to the Sioux City Explorers in July, but he had a 7.30 ERA in 4 games. The Explorers then released him, and his professional career ended.
