Biographical Information[edit]

Andrew Barb is a former minor league pitcher. He was drafted out of high school as a catcher by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 40th round of the 2003 Amateur Draft, in a draft-and-follow pick. Moving to pitcher in junior college, he signed with the team and burst on the scene with the 2004 GCL Phillies (2-2, 2.57, 56 K, 7 BB in 35 IP). In 2005, he was with the GCL Phillies (0-2, 3.27) and Batavia Muckdogs (3-2, 3.23).

He was sent to the Seattle Mariners with Andrew Baldwin on August 19, 2006 for the venerable Jamie Moyer. While Baldwin has played in AAA ball in the M's system since 2008, Barb found himself out of baseball in '08. The next year, however, he signed with the Baltimore Orioles organization and spent the season with the advanced A Frederick Keys posting a respectable 3.93 ERA with no decisions in 10 games. 2010 saw him play for the Winnipeg Goldeyes of the independent Northern League.
