Andrés Meza went 15-2 in 2009.
Meza debuted in 2007 for the Puebla Pericos, going 6-8 with a 4.47 ERA. In the 2007-2008 Mexican Pacific League, he helped the Yaquis de Obregón to their first title in 27 years. Despite this, he did not remain with the Yaquis for the 2008 Caribbean Series. In 2008, he was 7-6 with a 3.07 ERA. He really blossomed in 2009, when he had a 15-2, 2.72 record for Puebla. He finished fourth in the Mexican League in ERA behind Francisco Campos, Juan Pablo Oramas and Enrique Quintanilla and led the Liga in victories.
Meza then joined Mexico for the 2009 Baseball World Cup.
