Biographical Information[edit]

Amy Collins followed her sister Erin Collins onto the Australian women's national team; she had previously played softball. [1]

She debuted in the 2014 Women's Baseball World Cup, relieving Taylah Welch with a 29-1 lead over Hong Kong in the fifth and final inning of a mercy rule rout. She retired Siu-Ping Fung, walked Tsz-Chin Lau and Kit-Yi Au, struck out Wai-Yee Cheung, walked Kit-Ying Yeung and got Tan-Lee Cheung on a grounder. [2] At the 2016 Women's Baseball World Cup, she pinch-ran once. She took the hill once as well, holding South Korea to two hits (by Ye-ji Lee and Bo-hyeon Lee) and one walk in four shutout innings, fanning four to beat Rak-yung Kim. Linda Gough closed out the shutout. [3]

The 30-year-old southpaw made four appearances in the 2018 Women's Baseball World Cup and was excellent. She made her first appearance against Hong Kong, relieving Sinead Flanigan in the 4th with two outs and a 11-2 lead. She got Tan-Lee Dannii Cheung swinging and got Man-Hoi Kwan on a grounder to open the 5th before Kaila Borgomastro relieved. Her next appearance was against Bronze Medal winner Canada. Relieving Maddison Tabrett in the 7th with two on, one out and a 9-6 deficit, she struck out Kelsey Lalor and retiring Kate Psota. Her third game, she closed out a 5-1 loss to champion Japan, succeeding Kim McMillan and retiring Iori Miura. Her final contest of the tournament, she again dominated South Korea, relieving Flanigan in the 5th with a 6-1 lead and retiring six of seven, including a K of Jeong-eun Shin. The only batter to reach was when she hit Rak-yung Kim. Tabrett closed it out. She tied for fifth in the Cup in games pitched, tying Tabrett for the team lead. Her 3 2/3 hitless innings led the event, 2/3 ahead of Emily Tsujikawa. [4]
