American Negro League
The American Negro League was founded in 1929 to replace the defunct Eastern Colored League and had all the ANL members were from the ECL. The league lasted just the one season. Chino Smith led in average (.464) and homers (23) while Connie Rector went 20-2 on the hill. The Baltimore Black Sox were the league champions.
On December 16, 2020, the American Negro League was one of seven Negro Leagues to be recognized by Major League Baseball as a major league.
