Alexei Valyalin was a pitcher for the Russian national team.

Valyalin was 1-1 with a team-best 2.89 ERA in the 2001 European Championship, when Russia won a Silver Medal (their first medal in a European Championship). His loss came 4-0 against Rob Cordemans and the champion Dutch national team. He was 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA in the 2001 Baseball World Cup, losing to Panama; he tied for the second-worst ERA on Russia's staff.

In the 2003 European Championship, he had a 1-2, 4.70 record. His three starts tied Vladimir Petrov for the event lead while his 15 1/3 IP were 6th, between Jimmy Summers and Patrick Beljaards. He went 1-2 with a 3.46 ERA despite 9 walks in 13 innings in the 2003 Baseball World Cup, easily Russia's top hurler (Petrov had the next-best ERA at 8.44). He allowed five runs in one inning in a loss to Cuba but gave up no earned runs (and five unearned runs) in his other 13 innings. His best game was a 4-1 victory over Taiwan, allowing four hits and one run in 8 2/3 innings in a win against Chi-Hung Cheng (Oleg Korneev got the final out).
