Biographical Information[edit]
Alexander Vidyaev was on the Russian national team in the 1993 European Championship. He was retired by Spain's José Pulido his first time to the plate. His first hit was a triple off Sweden's Roderick Hopkins. He was 4 for 12 with a double, two triples, walk, steal, hit-by-pitch, four runs and five RBI, fielding .944; he was Russia's main second baseman. He led Russia in average, .037 ahead of Sergei Korolev and was second in RBI (one behind Alexei Golubev). He was among the tourney leaders in fielding at 2B (3rd, behind Craig McDonald and Lahcene Benhamida) and triples (tied Javier Diez for 2nd, one behind Steve Janssen).
