Biographical Information[edit]
Roderick Hopkins was 1-1 with two saves and a 5.79 ERA for the Swedish national team in the 1993 European Championship, helping them win a Bronze Medal. He was 8th in the event with 7.71 K/9 (between Patrick Klerx and Patrice Baudin), tied for 2nd in games pitched (4, one behind Leonid Korneev), tied for 3rd in complete games (1) and tied for first in saves with Tom Nanne). He played and coached in the Elitserien for a number of years, including with the Sundbyberg Heat. He was pitching coach for Sweden in the 2019 European Championship. His son Julius Hopkins played for the Swedish national team as well.
