Biographical Information[edit]

Aldo Espinoza has played in the minors and for the Nicaraguan national team.

He hit .216/.301/.260 for the 2016 DSL Dodgers 2 while fielding .968 at 2B. Moving to the DSL Dodgers 1 the next summer, he improved to .373/.448/.490 in reduced action. Coming stateside in 2018, he hit .333/.340/.431 in 19 games for the AZL Dodgers and pitched 1 2/3 shutout innings. For the 2019 AZL Dodgers Lasorda, he produced at a .298/.346/.419 clip to bring his career minor league average to .275 with three solid seasons in a row. That ended his time in the Dodgers chain, though.

Espinoza batted .235/.500/.353 with 9 walks and 6 runs in 8 games in the 2021 U23 Baseball World Cup, fielding .955 at second. He was second in walks, two behind Jakub Kubica. [1] In the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games, he debuted as a pinch-runner for Elián Miranda. His first plate appearance came pinch-hitting for Jacksell Mairena against Mexico, flying out against Luis Miranda. He finished 0-for-3. [2]
