Biographical Information[edit]
Alberto Varin has caught in the Italian Baseball League.
Varin debuted in 2008 with the Rangers Redipuglia, going 0 for 3; he remained with the Rangers from 2009-2011, when they returned to the Italian minors. He hit .364/.500/.455 for Italy in the 2009 European Junior Championship. In the 2010 World Junior Championship, he went 1 for 12 with two walks. His lone hit was a homer off Australia's Daniel McGrath. He participated in the MLB European Academy in 2010 and 2011. In 2012, he moved to Unipol Bologna. Backing up Marco Sabbatani, he was 1 for 5 with a double, walk, 2 runs and 2 RBI. His hit came against Jan Tomek in a 7-6 loss to Draci Brno.
