Biographical Information

Outfielder Alberth Martinez began his professional career in 2010 after being signed by the San Diego Padres. The scouts who signed him were Yfrain Linares, Felix Feliz and Antonio Alejos.

His first notable campaign was 2011, when he slashed .293/.337/.479 with 18 steals in 64 games between four teams, including four at Triple A. Baseball America named him the #11 prospect in the Arizona League. In 2012, he stole 12 bases in 86 games and in 2013, he hit 10 home runs and stole 10 bags. He again showed a little pop the next two years, hitting 12 and 11 dingers, respectively.
