Biographical Information[edit]

Al Baschang appeared in eight games in the majors. Most of his appearances were in left field. When he played in left field with the Detroit Tigers in 1912, the regulars in center and right were Ty Cobb and Sam Crawford. When he was with the Brooklyn Robins in 1918, the regular left fielder was Zack Wheat. In the issue of February 27, 1912 of Sporting Life, it said he was leading the Queen City Indoor League in batting. He managed the Evansville Evas of the Three-I League to a 67-69 record (5th place) in 1921.
