Biographical Information[edit]
Akira Hagiwara played in the Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.
Hagiwara joined the Mainichi Orions in 1950, and he only played one game that season. He hit .168/.205/.224 in 1951, and went 5-for-27 in 1952. Hagiwara was 0-for-3 in 1953, and he jumped to the Takahashi Unions in 1954. He recorded a .216/.259/.241 batting line in 1954, and he struggled again in 1955 as his batting line was .182/.214/.252. He announced his retirement after that season.
Overall, Hagiwara hit .193/.228/.247 with 126 hits in 6 seasons in the NPB.
