Biographical Information[edit]

Second baseman Adrian Thompson spent eight years in the minor leagues, playing from 1938 to 1941 and from 1946 to 1949. He briefly peaked at Triple A.

In 1939, he hit a career high 10 triples for the Worthington Cardinals and in 1941, for the Duluth Dukes, Thompson had career bests with a .311 batting average and .446 slugging mark in 110 games. After missing 1942 to 1945 to World War II, Thompson returned and briefly played for the Triple A Columbus Red Birds in 1946. In 1947, slugged 12 home runs for the Lynchburg Cardinals and Houston Buffaloes and in 1948, he bested that mark by hitting 13 homers for the Portsmouth Cubs.

Overall, Thompson batted .274 with 48 home runs in 783 games.
