Biographical Information[edit]
Achin Matos was 1-1 with a 0.71 ERA for the Dominican national team that won the Silver Medal at the 1946 Central American and Caribbean Games. He was on a Dominican team that played the 1948 Brooklyn Dodgers in an exhibition. He was part of the Dominican squad that won the 1948 Amateur World Series for their first world title. He turned pro in 1951-1952 with the Estrellas Orientales, going 2-6 with a team-best 2.72 ERA. He had a 2-2, 3.37 record the next season and a 5.28 era in 1953-1954. He ended in 1954-1955 with two runs in two innings for the Tigres del Licey.
