Biographical Information[edit]

Aart Wedemeijer was an umpire, reaching the Hoofdklasse in the early 1960s. He worked eight Haarlem Baseball Weeks, starting in 1966 and finishing in 1978. He was the first Dutch umpire to work a world championship, the 1973 Amateur World Series. He also worked the 1973 European Championship. He retired in 1985. He was active with the Dutch Baseball and Softball Federation from 1976-2005, serving on numerous national committees. His sons Harry and Lex served as official scorers in the Netherlands.
