The 2012 Pacific League Rookie of the Year Award went to Chiba Lotte Marines reliever Naoya Masuda (2-2, Sv, 1.67), who set Pacific League records for games pitched (72) and holds (41) by a rookie. He got 116 of 210 votes.
The other vote-getters were Shota Takeda of the Softbank Hawks (80 votes), Yoshinao Kamata of the Rakuten Golden Eagles (5 votes), Manabu Mima of Rakuten (4 votes) and Takayoshi Kawabata of the Orix Buffaloes (4 votes). One voter picked no one.
