2011 American League Most Valuable Player Award
The winner of the 2011 American League Most Valuable Player Award was Justin Verlander of the Detroit Tigers. Verlander had earlier won the Cy Young Award and was the first starting pitcher to earn MVP honors in the American League since Roger Clemens in 1986.
