2009 Pacific League Rookie of the Year Award

The 2009 Pacific League Rookie of the Year Award went to Softbank Hawks reliever Tadashi Settsu. Settsu had gone 5-2 with a 1.47 ERA and 102 strikeouts in 79 2/3 IP in a Pacific League-leading 70 games in 2009.
Settsu got 177 of 185 votes. Also getting votes were the following: the Nippon Ham Fighters' Kazumasa Kikuchi (4 votes), the Rakuten Golden Eagles' Hiromichi Fujiwara (1 vote) and Rakuten's Ryo Hijirisawa (1 vote). 4 voters abstained.
