The 1989 Serie A was the 42nd Italian season. Grosseto won its second title but only 3 years after its first one. Grosseto was led on offense by C Dwight Lowry, SS John Cortese and LF Stefano Manzini while the staff was headlined by Rich Olsen (the league leader in wins) and Raffaele Gandolfi.
