The 1959 American Association season was the 58th in the league's history, and ended with the Minneapolis Millers winning their second straight league championship. The Millers would go on to lose the Junior World Series.

The AA expanded to 10 teams this season, taking on Dallas, Denver and Fort Worth from the Texas League. The Braves took over the Louisville Colonels franchise as well.

However, after the season ended, Omaha folded and Fort Worth merged with Dallas to form the Dallas-Fort Worth Rangers.
