The 1938 International League season saw another strong season from the 1937 champions, the Newark Bears, again led by Charlie Keller. Meanwhile, Ollie Carnegie dominated on the power front and would finish his career as the league's home run leader, a mark that stood until 2014. NFL great Sammy Baugh was a backup shortstop for Rochester.
