Biographical Information[edit]

Ángel Bravo played only three seasons in Major League Baseball, but spent 18 seasons in Venezuelan baseball, where he is among the all-time leaders in hits, triples, and stolen bases.

Ángel hit one major league home run. It came on September 12, 1969, as a member of the Chicago White Sox against the Oakland A's. The pitcher was Lew Krausse. Although he was only in the majors from 1969 to 1971, the heart of that time was with the Cincinnati Reds in 1970, a team which won the National League pennant. Ángel recorded 65 at-bats in 65 games, hitting .277, and appeared in four World Series games. 22-year-old rookie Davey Concepcion was another Venezuelan on the squad that year.
