Biographical Information[edit]

Yudai Yamamoto has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Yamamoto played for the Shiga GO Blacks of the Baseball Challenge League in 2017, then the Yokohama BayStars selected him in the 9th round of the 2017 NPB draft. He mainly stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues for his first three seasons, and he only got 16 at-bats combined. Yamamoto played 51 games as Hikaru Ito injured in 2021, but his batting line was .131/.173/.182. He went 3-for-29 in 2022, then he broke out in 2023. As their starting catcher, Yamamoto hit .277/.347/.382 and won the Most Valuable Battery Award with Yokohama's ace Katsuki Azuma. He then attended the 2024 NPB All-Star Game. He went 1-for-3 with a RBI double against Sachiya Yamasaki in Game 1, then he was 0-for-1 after replacing Shogo Sakakura in Game 2. [1]
