Biographical Information[edit]

Yu-Chieh Lin played and won a Gold Glove in the TML.

Lin represented Taiwan in the 1986 Junior World Championship. The Kaoping Fala signed Lin when they were founded in 1997. Although Lin only batted .193/.263/.212, he still earned the starting third baseman spot with his elite defense, and won the first Gold Glove award. The Fala moved Lin to the second base in 1998, and he extended his excellent defense, won another Gold Glove as a second baseman. However, Lin still couldn't improve his poor batting. He batted .252/.333/.303 in 1998, but fell to .217/.258/.243 in 1999. The Taipei native finally broke out in 2000, recorded a .294/.348/.322 batting line in 143 appearances. Unfortunately, it looked like a fluke for Lin as he recorded a 3-15 before the Fala released him on the 2002 season. Lin then became a coach, coached the Fu Jen Catholic University from 2008 to 2012, then transferred to the Chang Jung Christian University from 2013 to present(2023). He also coached the Chinese Taipei junior national team in the 2005 World Youth Championship.

Overall, Lin had hit .230/.296/.261 in five seasons in the TML.
