Biographical Information[edit]

Yu-Chi Hsiao has pitched in the CPBL.

Hsiao pitched for Taiwan in the 2007 World Port Tournament, walking one batter and striking out one. He also threw a wild pitch in his brief action. In the 2008 Haarlem Baseball Week, he was 1-1 with a 2.57 ERA and 8 walks in 14 innings. Hsiao went 0-2 with a 3.00 ERA in the 2008 World University Championship, given tough assignments in starting against Japan and the USA, losing to Stephen Strasburg in the latter game. The La New Bears selected him in the 4th round of the 2008 CPBL Draft, and he missed his first season due to military service. Hsiao had a 8.10 ERA in 2010, then he recorded a 5.93 ERA in 11 appearances in 2011. He stayed in the minors for the next two years, and he was released after the 2013 season.

Hsiao throws a slider, curveball, changeup and fastball (timed at 90 mph).

Overall, Hsiao was 0-0 with a 6.64 ERA, struck out 12 and pitched 20 1/3 innings in 2 seasons in the CPBL.
