Biographical Information[edit]
Yosuke Shimokubo has played in Nippon Pro Baseball and for the Japanese national team.
Shimokubo represented Japan in the 2006 Intercontinental Cup, going 2 for 12 (both hits were doubles) with a run and two RBI; he had no chances in 18 innings in center (where he backed up Kei Nomoto). The Yokohama BayStars drafted him in the fifth round of the 2006 NPB draft. Shimokubo hit .277/.336/.330 in his rookie year, but he only played 14 games and went 2-for-15 in 2008. He spent the next 2 years almost entirely in the NPB Farm Leagues, and only had 10 at-bats combined with the big club. Shimokubo announced his retirement after the BayStars released him after the 2010 season
Overall, Shimokubo had hit .238/.297/.280 in 4 seasons in NPB.
