Biographical Information

In his major league debut with the Texas Rangers on August 13, 2021, catcher Yohel Pozo went 2 for 4 with a homer. He started at DH in an 8-6 win over the Oakland Athletics, the homer coming off Sergio Romo. He was originally signed by the Rangers on August 17, 2013, and after six seasons in the minors, he was signed by the San Diego Padres as a minor league free agent in November 2020, after being forced to sit out the preceding season when the minor leagues were shut down by the Coronavirus pandemic. However, he only stayed in the Padres' organization a few weeks, as on December 10th, he was drafted by the Rangers in the minor league phase of the 2020 Rule V Draft.
