Biographical Information

Yo Sugihara was drafted by the Chiba Lotte Marines in the 3rd round of the 2003 NPB draft, but he didn't get an appearance with the big club before he was released in 2006. He then went to the Nomo Baseball Club of the industrial league, and he signed with the Yokohama BayStars in 2010. Sugihara was only the third player to leave NPB, join the industrial league and return to the NPB (after Takao Watanabe and Masami Uno), and he made his NPB debut on July 21. However, that was his only NPB appearance, and he announced his retirement in 2012.
