Biographical Information[edit]

Yin-Chieh Tu pitched in the CPBL for 3 years.

Tu was selected by the Brother Elephants in the fourth round of the 2003 CPBL Draft, but he stayed in the minor league until 2005 then he left the team. The Sinon Bulls signed him, and Tu had a 6.97 ERA in 16 games 2006. His ERA rose to 8.14 in 21 games in 2007, then he improved to a 3.02 ERA in 29 games in 2008. However, he struggled again as his ERA was 6.14 in 13 games in 2009, then the Bulls released him. Tu returned to the Elephants, and he was 1-3 with a 5.50 ERA as a starter in 2010. He was released again, and Tu announced his retirement. He started to coach Dahan Institute of Technology in 2019.

Overall, Tu was 2-7 with a 5.39 ERA, struck out 96 and pitched 153 2/3 innings in 5 seasons in the CPBL. His repertoire included a fastball (peak 90.7 mph), changeup, forkball, slider and sinker.
