Biographical Information[edit]
Utility infielder Yasushi Yamamoto played for the Chunichi Dragons (1992-1994) and Chiba Lotte Marines (1997-2002). Despite spending (part of) 9 seasons in Nippon Professional Baseball, Yamamoto averaged just 19 games and 27 at-bats per year. Overall, he batted .202/.270/.276 with no home runs, 21 RBI and 49 hits. Despite his anemic numbers overall, in 1998, he hit .333/.400/.578 with 15 hits in 45 at-bats. His first NPB hit was off Koji Nakada.
He was traded to the Chiba Lotte Marines in 1995 with Toru Nimura and Tadaharu Sakai for Yukinaga Maeda, Sadaharu Hiranuma and Kazutoshi Higuchi.
