Biographical Information

Yang Sang has pitched in the indies and for the Chinese national team.

Sang was 1-1 for China in the 2016 Asian U18 Championship, beating Indonesia and losing to champion Japan. Like many Chinese players, he was farmed out to the Texas AirHogs, struggling for them in 2019 (11 H, 15 BB, 15 R, 11 ER in 7 1/3 IP). He then pitched for China in the 2019 Asian Championship. The teenager made two appearances. Against Japan, he relieved Zhan Ya Wang in the 6th and worked 1 1/3 innings (3 H, 1 R) before Jiahong Mi took over. His second game also was against one of the top two teams, relieving Wang with a 10-2 deficit against Taiwan and pitching one inning (1 H, 1 BB) before Mi closed it out.
