Biographical Information[edit]
Yang-keun Cho played in the Korea Baseball Organization for 7 years.
Cho played for South Korea in the 1981 World Junior Championship and 1985 Intercontinental Cup. The Binggrae Eagles selected him in the first round of the 1988 KBO draft, and he hit .216/.271/.314 in 87 games in his first season. He then had a .273/.319/.336 batting line with 20 steals in 1989, and he slumped to .204/.285/.268 in 1990. Cho then played 93 games with a .224/.292/.288 batting line in 1991, and he recorded a .219/.288/.236 batting line in 1992. The Eagles then traded him to the LG Twins for Kug-seong Lee, but Cho struggled again as he hit .212/.288/.247 in 1993. He only played 2 games with the big club in 1994, then he announced his retirement.
Overall, Cho hit .232/.294/.290 with 276 hits and 6 homers in 7 seasons in the KBO.
