Biographical Information[edit]
Woody Wagenhorst came out of Princeton University to play two games for the Philadelphia Quakers in 1888. He was five years older than Ed Delahanty, a rookie and teammate who had made his major league debut a month earlier than Woody.
A number of sources say that Wagenhorst also attended Penn. He also apparently played football at both Princeton and Penn.
"Wagenhorst, late of Princeton, played third base and did well." - Sporting Life's report of Woody Wagenhorst's first major league game on June 25, 1888
