Biographical Information[edit]

Starting pitcher Wilsen Palacios has played in the Detroit Tigers minor league system since 2007 (through 2014).

Signed by scout Pedro Chavez, he began his career with the VSL Tigers, where he stayed through 2008. That year, he had a 1.52 ERA in 41 1/3 innings. After a campaign with the DSL Tigers in 2009, he moved stateside for 2010 and went 4-4 with a 2.43 ERA in 14 games (11 starts) between the GCL Tigers, Connecticut Tigers and Lakeland Flying Tigers. The Baseball Cube ranked him the 2nd-best pitcher in the Gulf Coast League that year, behind Cesar Ciurcina. He was 5-5 with a 3.08 ERA in 14 starts for Connecticut in 2011. Once again, he was ranked the 2nd-best pitcher in his league by The Baseball Cube - the New York-Penn League this time - placing one slot behind Brennan Smith.

In 2012, Palacios was 12-9 with a 3.70 ERA in 23 starts for the West Michigan Whitecaps. With Lakeland in 2013, he went 7-8 with a 3.07 ERA in 24 games (23 starts) and was named a MiLB.com Organization All-Star and the Florida State League's best pitcher by TBC. He was 10-4 with a 4.58 ERA in 26 games (25 starts) for the Erie SeaWolves in 2014, his first campaign at Double-A.
